If that is Mary's sister Elizabeth's marriage to James Robertson in 1862 this would make sense too.

Now wonder you're confused Kay!

On the positive side at least you can be fairly certain that the family at 65 Portland Street is yours.

Well it looks like you're going to have to have a look at what Elizabeth says about her parents when she married James Robertson. Not cheap this is it? :D

Annette

Hi Frances and Annette :)

Thankyou both for your help - look likes I'm back to Scotlands People for more certificates :!: :!: :!:

I will be looking for 3 Margarets - Elliot, Duke and Stewart. I suppose Thomas may have married 3 times - who knows :?:

I am sure I will need your help again soon

I am feeling very remedial at this ancestry thing

Kind regards Kay

Hi Kay:

Don't get discouraged - if they had known anyone down the line would have cared to find out about them, I'm sure they would have been a little more considerate about explaining themselves

It looks like No. 65 is (or was) on the corner of South Portland Street and Norfolk Street. http://tinyurl.com/cv5xkp (Click on street view if the link doesn't take you straight there)

Not much help otherwise,
Alan

Back again and more confused :? :? :? :? :?

1863 Marriage Elzabeth HUNT to James Robertson

Elizabeth Hunt age 19 - Parents Thomas Hunt (engineer) and Margaret Hunt nee HAMILTON

I am sure this is the Thomas Hunt ancestor.
Margaret is the one I am having trouble with (I think)

Margaret Hunt DC 1874 aged 70
states William Hamilton (soldier) dec. 1st husband.
states Thomas Hunt (engineer) 2nd husband.
signed by William Hamilton (son)

:? All my ancestors seem to be named William, Thomas and Margaret and I can't get my head around it.

Elizabeth and Mary Ann maybe stepsisters ?

Could some kind soul look at the docs I have uploaded to the gallery

Help me pleeeeeease Regards Kay (Australia)
