Hi Stuart,
If it's West of Scotland i could check the address on 1859 MC in the 1861 census at The Mitchell.
Just on the off-chance someone in the family is still there.

Many thanks for the offer but it's in Slamanan, Stirling, and the address is only given as Slamanan. I've been off this side of the family for a while but I got a few bites on the IGI the other night which helps make up for these little sticky bit's.

As a general comment, my experience is that the accuracy of the "deceased" information, - presence or absence thereof, - on a marriage register entry is most often correct, but whether that is 80% or 90% or 95% is difficult to say.
