Hi all
I wonder how old James Aberdein was ?!
I'd be interested to know what James Aberdein did for a living or maybe what his interests were....? Those forms of letters also tend to be used by those who have learned calligraphy or who have an artistic streak.
Best wishes
Lesley

The James found at the same DC address of Camden Street in Glasgow on the 1901 census has the occupation of Machineman Engineer. His name has been indexted by SP as ABERDEEN. And of course...where else could he be born but..................Aberdeenshire!

Best wishes

Haven't seen the register entry yet, but in that era it was common to use "inmate" as meaning no more than resident at the address where the birth took place (but not related), as opposed to the modern meaning of a resident in an institution.

Hi

Aberdein is a not very very uncommon name in these parts. In fact one of the largest legal firms in Aberdeen is called Aberdein Considine.

Hi Janet
I'm seeing it as signed Findleter, but I suspect it is a spelling variation of Findlater.
