I am also following this Skirving line to see if Adam Skirving of the Jacobite era is someone I can add to my tree.

Thank you:)

No, I'm saying that his wife Marion may well have been from Manchester.

Today I received the marriage certificate for Matthew Skirving & Marion Thompson who married in the parish of Manchester in the county of Lancaster July 11, 1854. Matthew was 24 & Marion 21 at the time. Only the fathers names are given; James for Matthew & Dugald for Marion.

Ok. The question(s) I have now relate to their residence at the time of the marriage. Matthew is shown as residing at what looks like 25 Duffield Street, Greenheys; while Marion is shown is residing at ? Lane, Cheetham Hill.

Since I can find no record of Matthew's birth only his death in 1878 in Tradeston, Lanark, Scotland of typhoid fever, siblings were 2 girls born in whittinghame 1 before and 1 after matthew.

I'm stuck, dennis
