This latter comment in DWW's reply came in very handy in my own searching for my long lost deid yins.

I had a John Mudie Anderson in my paternal line who I wasnt absolutely sure if he was the right one due to lack of evidence on the "Mudie" name. Just recently a distant cousin (4th) I connected with through "Genes" found the 1954 marriage for my uncle and lo and behold his full Sunday name was John Mudie Anderson Laurie, clinching the link I have further back. :D Though I still dont know where the "Mudie" name comes from and may not be directly linked to my line, he might even have been the dokter or the meenister :lol:

Although the link is firm now, as he died of alcholism something that is noted in the line [cheers] [5 cups] perhaps that was enough proof of the link :wink: :lol:

I have tried the naming pattern and the only name she didnt use was Isabel after the father's mother.I have searched for an Isabel Hepburn but had no luck.I also searched using Hanley thinking she may have had a child before marraige but still nothing :roll:

Have you tried variant spellings including Isobel, those with a double "ll", "e" at the end, Ishbel, Iseabail; plus Bella etc.?, never mind Elizabeth.....?
