Hi Cathy,

I think it was nelmit who sent me the poorhouse record for Mary Glancy, and yes I did notice the McMahon reference in it. I tried to find out who she was referring to in the censuses but I don't think I could at the time.

I do have John O'Brien's death registration which says he was married to Ann McMahon informant was brother Michael. I also have what looks to be Ann's second marriage rgistration and her death registration. It mentions John O'Brien in both. However if there were two couples with the same names, one in Glasgow who didn't marry and one in Blantyre who did, then I am no further ahead as the Ann McMahon certificates I have may well be for the Blantyre girl.

Hi Nina,
while searching for "nothing to do with your query", I came across
Ann McManus.
I will PM my transcripts. Dig out the aspirin.

Thanks for the info Cathy, but it was for the Docherty branch and not this O'Brien branch. Having said that, I can't quite fit that John Docherty into my tree either :D . Oh well, I just woke up...my brain is probably not yet awake!

Thanks for thinking of me.
