I am really surprised. It states that the members of the Church of Scotland are only 12% of the population. I thought that most Scots were presbyterians, something like 60% of the population. Does anyone know what church in Scotland had the largest membership?

What era do these percentages come from? If it is now, then I would guess that the majority of Scots churchgoers are Church of Scotland, but a significant percentage of the Scots population would describe themselves as belonging to no church at all.

It is the present that they are talking about. So it would seem that most of today's Scots would be Presbyterian then.

Officially I am a Presbyterian, but if anyone asked me what church I belonged to, I would have to tell them that I don't belong to any church either.
