Which Peter? Father or son? And what are you wanting to find about him?

Cheers,
Sarah

You haven't been paying attention... Reread this thread and you'll see on page 1 my suggestion to the best of my knowledge.

Well, that question turned out to be complicated... since the Ancestry transcription has them in South Knapdale, which is not one of your choices. So I did a search on SP, getting no hits for any of the people at the hotel in South Knapdale. They all turned out to be in Tarbert. On the Ancestry transcription Peter is said to be 26 years old, but there is no such person on SP. So he's got to be the 28 year old in Tarbert. Fingers crossed!

Sarah

Yes, I think it is him. His parents were born in Perthshire-- perhaps the hotel keeper knew that and thought they had all been born there? As for the married/single thing... hmmm. Makes one wonder what he was up to, doesn't it?! But probably the answer lies simply in that the person who filled out the form really didn't know much about him since he was just visiting. I don't see any other likely candidates in Scotland.

Sarah

You're very welcome. It will get easier as you gain experience looking at lots of records. Before long, you'll be the one helping out others! That's the way it works here on [talkingscot]
