hi Liz
Welcome to Talking Scot.
I'm afraid we can't really help with living relatives, though we do have some links which may be of some use.

Not sure where you are based, but it may be possible if you spend a day at NRH in Edinburgh or Park Circus in Glasgow, to trace forwards using birth marriage and death entries.
It might also be worth your while contacting Birthlink, 21 Castle Street, Edinburgh EH2 3DN Telephone: 0131-225-6441 if you have not done so already. Birthlink offers a range of services for people separated by adoption with a Scottish connection and they operate Scotland's only Adoption Contact Register.

They are very helpful.
Best of luck

Hi lizstorrie,
A warm welcome to Talking Scot.
Unfortunately, we cannot help you trace living people.
You have the death certificates for James, Christina and Robert, then you will know who their parents were.
The marriage certificate for James to Agnes Rae might also be of help.
I'm sorry your first post here had to receive a somewhat negative response, but, should you get the living rellies sorted out and your partner wishes to discover his family's ancestry, we will be happy to assist as much as we can.
Good Luck
