Hi Brenda
Wee Eliza's death is found in 1869.
1869 MCCRACKEN ELIZA F 4 HIGH CHURCH GLASGOW CITY/LANARK 644/02 0939
The IGI lists these births to John and Agnes:
1. JAMES MCCRACKEN - International Genealogical Index
Gender: Male Birth: 15 APR 1869 High Church, Glasgow, Lanark, Scotland
2. AGNES MILLER MCCRACKEN - International Genealogical Index
Gender: Female Birth: 03 JUL 1873 High Church, Glasgow, Lanark, Scotland
3. ELIZA MILLER MCCRACKEN - International Genealogical Index
Gender: Female Birth: 27 JAN 1866 High Church, Glasgow, Lanark, Scotland
but like Andrew I didn't immediately see the family in 1871. By 1881 however I found what looked like John with a new wife and family and sure enough...that led to finding the death of first wife Agnes in 1873. I haven't proven whether wee Agnes survived but her apparent absence from the family in 1881 doesn't look good.
Here's the family in 1881...
Hutchesontown
Civil parish: Glasgow Hutchesontown
County: Lanarkshire
Address: 163 Aitkenhead Rd
Elizabeth McCracken 28
Elizabeth McCracken 5 Mo
James McCracken 11
Janet McCracken 2
John McCracken 39
Margaret McCracken 6
Thomas McCracken 4
Best wishes
Jean

Many thanks Andrew & Jean.
John's 1st wife, Agnes Miller, died from complications following the birth of Wee Agnes Miller McCracken [ born 03 July 1873..died 08 July 1873 premature birth. ]
Agnes died 5 weeks after on 12 August, cause of death shown as "child birth 5 weeks, dropsy 4 weeks" ...Very sad.
I found John with his new wife Elizabeth Gibben in the `871 census, noted James with them but no Eliza, so I'm very grateful to you Jean for finding a record of her death.
