birth certificate required

hi, I have been trying to find a birth certificate for helen mchugh born 1893 died 1955 married 1911 I keep getting the wrong one. her parents were cornelius mchugh and ellen nee mclaughlan. her marriage cert.gives her first name as nellie ,her death as helen but cant seem to find her birth cert to see where she was born.

If you have not already, it might be worth looking for her in the 1901 census? That may give you some pointers as to her birthplace.

hi lesley, tried all the census records she seems to vanish cant find parents till wedding in 1911in clydebank, beginning to wonder if they were in scotland
also tried various spellings of the names, I wont pull my hair out yet though.!

Using Ancestry, I've found a possible family group in the 1891 and 1901 censuses, if her age in the 1911 marriage was massaged.

1891 Maryhill
Neil McCue 35 b.Ireland
Ellen McCue 30 b.Ireland
Mary McCue 14 b.Maryhill
Ellen McCue 7 b.Maryhill

1901 Maryhill
Neil McCue 47 b.Ireland
Nelly McCue 46 b.Ireland
Helen McCue 16 b.Maryhill

I found no obvious sign of the Maryhill births or of the parents and older daughter in 1881, so cannot prove this group is the family you are looking for.

[a few minutes later] Ellen (senior) McHugh's 1911 death certificate show's her widower Cornelius as a mason's labourer, same job as Neil was given in 1891 (he was a general labourer in 1901). The family group in the censuses are looking a bit more hopeful now.

hi , andrew thanks for the info I dont think it is the right group ellen mchugh the mother died in 1911 aged 40 so she would have been born 1871, her daughters birth cert , Helen mchugh the one I cant find would be 1893 ,,cornelius mchugh her father was born 1868 death cert. in 1929 signed by son philip. I will keep looking thanks for your help.
