Searching For records in Aberdeenshire

I am trying to trace the familty tree of my Grandfather who was born in aberdeenshire

He married a Mary Gordon MacPherson DOB 1883 around 1908 His name was John Russell

Can anyone help

Have you tried ScotlandsPeople?

I did not specify any locations and found a record of marriage between John Russell and Mary Gordon McPherson in 1908 on ScotlandsPeople. You can reach that official Scottish government record site by clicking the button in the top banner of this page. Although there are costs involved, it is well worth your while.

A record of marriage will provide you with their reported ages, occupations, addresses, place and date of marriage, parents names (including the mothers' maiden names) and names of witnesses. This will give you a good starting point.

Welcome to Talking Scot! Have you tried to find the Russells and MacPhersons in the census records? Just wondering what information you already have, so we can concentrate on the missing bits.
