Isn't it great when you pay to view a certificate and you get another on the same page ! I always revert to my OH's tree when mine goes through a slow patch. I looked up a marriage on SP and the other one on the page was the other side of his family. Result !!

Jammy!! That's happened to me too.Three or four times in fact.

The funniest is two marriages on the same page & both had sons about six months later-obviously something in the water that year.Didn't know at the time both sons would become friends & then be related through marriage.

This is another thing I'm finding out about OH and his tree. He's been telling me he discovered the uncles of both him and his closest friend were best pals too. Also one of the witnesses on the marriage certificate above had the same name as an old guy he used to befriend in his local and OH reckons now the old guy was either the son or grandson of the witness. I'm going to look into that out of curiousity

That's a bit like winning the lottery.

I don't know whether I've taken a lot of notice of the other marriage on the page. Maybe I should revisit my marriage certificates.

Currie,
You should definitely check out the other entries. I have even found a Witness at a marriage who was a relative.
The Census entries are worth a good look. There are some connections to be found there.
Because I don't trust computers (Old Fogey) I print them out and occasionally have a browse and it is amazing what you find second or third time round.

Thanks Wini,

I'll give it a go, but knowing my luck I won't expect much.

All the best,
Alan

Yes Wini I agree it's good to revisit information. If it has been a few years it's surprising how things fit into place with the new people you have picked up along the way

Yes & there's nothing more frustrating than paying money on SP only to discover that you've already "got" that certificate or entry for somebody else on the same page. It has happened a few times.
