Hi Flipside
Looks Like Mun… the marriage is on SP
Look for Morrison and "Munn" in 1880 at Boisdale.

researching
McIntyre, Menzies, Cowley, Pearson, Copland, McCammond, Forbes, Edgar etc. in Scotland
Skinner in Northumberland

Hi Flipside,

My poor old eyes read it as follows:-

Bridget Morrison 1st Feb 1896 11H 0M am
??? South Uist
Donald Morrison general labourer
Jessie Morrison ms Mun??
1880 December 2nd Boisdale
Donald Morrison his mark father present
Gero MacKay registrar

Paula
Searching for Barclay Aberdeenshire, Stewart Edinburgh, Brown Edinburgh & Uphall, Finlayson E Lothian, Fairley & Renton E & W Lothian for starters!

Hi Flipside,

I agree with Mun too.

All I can add is the place name - Smirclate. On the modern maps with the Gaelic spelling, it is Smeircleit.

Current OS map showing Smeircleit

All the best,

AndrewP
