Search birth by date

Is there a way to find a birth if you know the exact birth date, ie not just the year?

I'm having no luck for one birth under the name she went by, but I know her birthday so I'd like to try look up births for that date in the area she's from.

Is there any way to do this (online)?

Hi Mi,

Only if you are talking about a birth pre-1875. Then on a parish-by-parish basis, using the Hugh Wallis website to gain the batch numbers.

Then back to IGI.

Insert the region - British Isles, and the batch number and you will get all of the births in that parish/registration district in the years covered by that batch. If the year range is too wide, then you can select a year range on the IGI form. The resulting list of names is listed with the birth dates for you to look through. If (for example) you know the mother's first name, then that can be input to cut the list down.

If you are looking at 1875 onwards for Scotland, then I don't know of any index that will show birth dates.
