Re: Lost marriage
No obvious signs of a marriage but hopefully somebody else will find it.claire dalton wrote:Im trying to find my grandmothers parents marriage tryed sp with no luck can anyone help they where hugh mcnaughton and margaret blaney i think they marriaed before 1922 because thats when my granmother was born. my dad remembers them living in alloa thats all the info i have
A check of SP shows that Margaret was born around 1881 and died at Alloa in 1955 but obviously you can't view that image. A good chance she was married before considering her age when she had your gran.
There is one Margaret Blaney living at Stirling in 1901 and a marriage the same year. If you can find the name of that Margaret Blaney's husband you could do a cross check of the one who died in Alloa.
Hope this makes sense.

Annette

Hi Claire,
The death certificate is beyond the 50 year cut-off date, so it is there available for you to download from SP. I took a peek at it, and there is a big clue there for you - Margaret Blaney known as Margaret McNaughton. I would take that to mean that they were unmarried - hence no sign of a marriage on SP.
All the best,
AndrewP
