Another request for aid deciphering documents

Post by runepriest » Mon Nov 03, 2008 6:55 am

Hello all:

Just found the marriage record for my great grandparents: David Hampton and Janet Black.

First off, I have no idea what day in July they were married.
Second, the maiden name of the brides mother
Third, the surname of the female witness
Fourth and final, the residences of both groom and bride at time of marriage.

On a slightly different note, how does one order copies of these documents from SP if that option does not show itself?

Thanks in advance for your time.

Hi Brian,

I read them as:
Nineteenth July
Jane Black, M.S Allison (deceased)
Mary Annand
Carnegie Ward, Carmyllie; and Leysmill, Inverkeillor

All the best,

AndrewP

I agree with Andrew, Brian.

I don't think you can order a copy of the entry but you could order an extract from GROS at a cost of £13.

I usually just print it off from Scotlands People.

Annette
