Not sure when this came online, but it is among the new records on Ancestry:
UK Medical Registers, 1859-1959
This database contains annually published books listing all of the names of doctors who were licensed to practise in the United Kingdom and abroad from 1859-1959. Also included are foreign doctors who qualified in Britain. Although these books were published annually, registers have only been digitised on 4 year intervals.
This is interesting if you have a doctor in your ancestry, or even if you are just curious about the doctor who signed your ancestor's death certificate! The database gives the name and address of each doctor, the place and date of registration, and the details of the medical degrees obtained..
All the best,
Sarah
