Hi David
An image uploaded by a member to the gallery is not visible until someone from Admin "approves" it, so that is why you would not have been able to see it....it's a precaution in place just incase some "temporary member" uploads something inappropriate!!
Best wishes
Lesley

I think you're right, Susan, or it could be spelt Ketchin!
Let's see what others think it might be.

Hi Susan,
He may be the Archibald Ketchen in Fala in the 1861 census. His death is there too 30+ years on (surname spelled as Ketchin).
All the best,
AndrewP

Or could it be Kitchen - there's a bit of a tick at the left hand side of the cross stroke on the 't'. Could it be a dot for the 'i' that runs into the cross stroke?

I too would go for Archibald Ketchen, Neighbour.
I had a quick check of the 1861 Census and there certainly was an Archibald Ketchen in Humbie -- ok, two years before your birth record but I think it could be him.

Where did you find him? I found one in neighbouring Fala. The (sort of) nearest I found was Archibald Chisholm at Blackshiels, Humbie.
All the best,

Could he be Archibald
Ritchie? With Ancestry's current Scottish census problems, I can't check if such a name is likely.

Sarah
