Although I can find her twin siblings born in Kenmore Perth in Nov. 1893, I cannot find Christina (Tina) Carmichael who supposedly was born in 1897 in Kenmore Perth.
Her parents were Duncan and Christina McIntyre married in Oct. 1893
She is on the 1901 Census listed as 4 yrs old.
I have tried many variations of Christina to no avail.
Anyone out there who may have some information or suggestions??
I did find her marriage in 1921 to Alfred Heffer in Rochford, Essex but can't find her death (after 1955) either!

Hi Margaret,
Are you sure about the marriage? Just asking because I see there are 3 chr*n*
mcintyre born in 1896 (not 1897) in Perth. None in Kenmore, but could she have been born elsewhere, at her maternal grandparents' home or the like? If you have already checked these, never mind!
All the best,
Sarah

Sarah and Margaret,
There is a marriage right enough at Kenmore in 1893 and I assume you've looked at that one Margaret to make sure it's the right Duncan (the one who was previously married to Christian Scott). Looks like Christina Mcintyre/Carmichael died at Kenmore in 1900.
I too wondered about Tina being registered under a different name - but in this case a different Christian name - as it looks as though Duncan already had a daughter Christian to his first wife. However, even searching for a female Carmichael birth doesn't bring up any at Kenmore between 1896-1898 although there are 6 at Perth(shire) within those years.
I'm sure the super sleuths at TS will get to the bottom of this wee mystery.
Regards,
Annette

Hi Margeret,Sarah, Annette
I wonder iF Alfred and Christina emigrated to the USA ? There is a 1959 passenger list on
www.findmypast.co.uk with a Christina and Alfred Heffer of Rochford, Essex . It gives her birthdate as 17 january 1897. On the Social secuity death index on Ancestry there is a 1981 death of a Christina Heffer with that same birthdate recorded in Wheaton, Du Page, Illinois, USA .
Hope this helps
Sally

Just so's you guys don't think I'm being a slacker here......there ain't no record in Kenmore.

By looking for some Mc* births in 1897 to get a toe in the door I then chose one and bought my way back to the beginning of the book. There is a huge leap of birthdates from 30th Dec 1896 (recorded 18th Jan 1897) to 31st Jan 1897 (recorded 8th Feb 1897). Not alot of activity in Kenmore if you know what I mean. I even went way on a limb stretch to wonder if Christina was dropped by a stork or something. There is a birth of a Christina Crerar that had my heart pounding for a wee second but this was an illegitimate birth 24th July 1896. Mother was Annie who was a servant in exactly the right location. I even tried to find if this wee Christina lived or died or what but didn't find anything conclusive. There was no RCE entry for it or any other odd clues so I've discarded it as a red herring...especially now that we have a DOB to run with. Perhaps the registrar was away on his winter hols that year.
I tried!
Best wishes
Jean
PS...I've had a look in the whole country and there is only one Carmichael birth with part of Chr* first name in it but it's not your girl. This one is Ella Christie Carmichael born in Edinburgh.

You a slacker? Never! I knew you'd be right on the case Jean.
I did think the only way to find her would be to look at the register after 18th January. Had planned to do just that on my next visit to Park Circus.
I had wondered if she was born with a different Christian name and her father changed it when her mother died. I've had that one before with my lot but with no Carmichaels registered at Kenmore.......................
Best wishes,
Annette
