Help - Robert Young & Mary Burrell

I wonder if anyone out there can help us - About 10 years ago my mum and dad attempted our family tree however we have only got back to the 7th generation. I have actually seen another post here about our family - the Young family, particularly Robert Young (born 1790 died 1861) and Amelia Fiskin (born 1795 died 1873), we know that Robert's parents names were Robert Young and Mary Burrell and that Robert was a shoemaker however we have no other information at all of when they were born or marriage dates etc.

I wonder if anyone would have the missing pieces to our family tree?

There are many people who would be only too glad to get back that far...especially those of us with a branch or two in Ireland. Seven generations is pretty good, and even with Scottish records brings most folk to the point where the information begins to start getting very thin on the ground; it very much depends what area your relatives live in as to how good or how complete earlier records may be.

I'm sure you will have already tried the obvious places such as ScotlandsPeople and the IGI - if there is no sign in either of these locations, then it may be the case that no marriage was recorded and so a tougher search to find anything further about the family which is likely to require possibly quite time consuming visits to archives and the like to establish if indeed there is anything moreto be found. There may not be.
