Thomas McCrory and Florence Park Tyrie

Looking to help a friend with this one .

Marriage (1907) in Musselburgh between Thomas McCrory and Florence Park Tyrie. Thomas is aged 30 and his parents are given as John McCrory and Jane or Jean Allan (deceased).

Florence aged 20. David Tyrie and Mary Ann Veitch are given as Florence's Foster Parents. Looks like Florence died aged 96 in Kelty.

1) Can't find birth for Thomas or his parents marriage .

Any help much appreciated.

Have you found him in any census? What was his occupation? Where was he born? A search in the census for m*crory comes up with quite a few born in Ireland... Could this have been his case also?

Hi Sarah,

He was a coal miner. Havn't found him on the census. Did cross my mind that there may be an Irish connection. Will keep searching.

If you don't have it already - search for her birth using Florence Park as her forename with no surname. there is one (but not Murray) at Dalkeith in 1887.

Florence Tyrie was my grandmother, who died in Kelty aged 96.
She lived the last 30 years of her life with her daughter Mary Sinclair,
who also lived into her 90's.
Thomas McCrory died late 40's or early 50's, before I was born.
Gran had eight children, four of whom are now in their
80's and 90's.
Her eldest son John McCrorie - note the name change - died aged 84,
a few years ago, in Dunfermline.

What is your connection to Gran?

Have no connection myself. Was helping the brother of my sister -In -law with his research.I believe that he is also a grandson of Florence Tyrie.
