By the way, is there a way on this forum to get alerts when anything is added to a thread I've started or posted on?)

When you post on a topic, make sure the "Notify me when a reply is posted" is ticked. Otherwise, after the fact, you can also click on "Subscribe topic" at the top of any topic to be notified of any additions.

Do you not see the boxes to tick, or does it just not work when you tick them? And do both options not work?

neither option works any more, I thought it was my end but doesn't seem to be.
I've retried all my board settings but still no emails come through
I've just retweeked my email settings , so I'll see if that works today.

Like Wilma, I am in the same situation, I haven't had any topic notification for a short while now. All the boxes are ticked

Hmmm. I wonder what it could be? No change of email address or of browser? A recent browser update that might have done something to the settings? I'm grasping at straws here, but it seems odd that most of us get notifications yet you don't. Perhaps someone with some knowledge of how it works will come up with a theory.

Hello Alison,
Not sure which you mean by "first" or "second", but It is slightly different depending on what board style you have chosen. In my version (subsilver2) there is a band just under the "new topic" and "post reply" buttons at the top left that has the following clickable links: "Subscribe topic; Bookmark topic; Print view; E-mail friend"

If you are using the prosilver board style, the links appear on the very bottom left of the page: "Board index; Subscribe topic; Bookmark topic"

In both cases I believe the "Notify me when a reply is posted" appears under the message when you are posting a reply.

I'm no longer getting emails notifying me of private messages even though I have the box ticked. I haven’t chosen to get notification of posts.

My email address on TS is correct. My user name appears in the ‘Confirm email address’ box in the Accounts Settings of my Profile. Is that normal?

I sent myself a private message recently to test it but there was no email notification.

If anyone sends me a private message and they don't get a reply they'll know why. Just throw something.
