I've uploaded the MC for James Wright & Mary Jane Gallpen. I am unable to read the firstname for James' dad as well as the maiden name for his mom.

I agree with Jack.....and a Parent search on the IGI for that couple come up with two logical suspects....one of which was born in 1855

Nothing to be embarrassed about - i too have trouble deciphering names at times
And i defy anyone who says they haven't!
If a name doesn't "jump out" right away then i always hope there is a similar word or letter somewhere on the page.
But of course sometimes there just isn't anything to compare - luckily this time there was!
The "shape" of words (especially longer ones) can often give you the clue as to what they might possibly be.

The 1855 BC that Jean found for Margaret WRIGHT should be worth looking at.
Hopefully it will confirm parents' marriage & their birthplaces.
