Maxwell/Ritchie.....

Hi all,
I have been trying with not much success to find any information on my gg grandparents Andrew MAXWELL and Ann RITCHIE. They were married in Dundee , Angus on 26.8.1845 . Ann was the natural daughter of a George RITCHIE (farmer) in the Perth area , they had a son Alexander Cuthbert MAXWELL in 1843 , and a daughter , Helen MAXWELL my g grandmother about 1845. Ann died sometime between Helens birth and 1851 when Andrew remarried to Elizabeth MCLEISH . I have a copy of Andrew and Anns OPR wedding cert hoping to find some information regarding Andrews parents but to no avail. If anyone has Andrew in their tree or any information at all I would be most grateful.

Have you tried searching on ScotlandsPeople for the Family on the 1861 Census for Angus? By searching for the given names: Elizabeth, Helen and/or Alexander, you may be able to narrow down the choice

Have you tried searching for Andrew's death, also on SP? Searching for Andrew Maxwell in Angus between 1855 & 1925, aged 35-95 gives only two.
Searching between 1855 & 1860, ages 35-40 gives only one. Worth having a look at, I would say.
