Gardner siblings can't agree on parents name?

Hi, I can't seem to get my ancestors to keep their stories straight. I have been researching my ggg grandfather, John Harvie Gardner and this is what I have found: (all events occuring in Linlithgow, West Lothian)
1) His death certificate lists John Gardner Coachman died 15 Oct 1875 age 57. Lists his parents as John Harvie Gardner Joiner, Deceased and Helen Gardner MS Baird Deceased. Informant was John's son, Adam
2)John's sister's death certificate lists Helen Park died 29 June 1879. Parents Adam Gardner Joiner, Deceased and Helen Gardner MS Baird deceased. Informant was her husband.
3) Their mother's death 21 Mar 1865. Helen Gardner widow of Adam Gardner, wright, her parent was Mary Duncan. Informant was Helen Park Daughter (#2)

So in 3 documents, I have 2 father's names (Adam and John Harvie) and the question on what Helen's maiden name was.
To add to the confusion. I can not seem to find a father (John or Adam) dying.
I did find in the Linlithgow parish records a birth:
Adam Gardner Wright and Helen Duncan had twin sons born the 1st and baptized the 14th Dec (1818) named John Harvie and Thomas Duncan.

So who is telling the truth and where is the father what ever his name.

Hi,

I hadn't found them in the 1841 census so this is a treat.

I did find the entry for Helen Duncan. It is at the bottom of the page and quite dark, we read the name as Mary Pain but looking at familysearch there appears to be a couple more children with Bain as the mother's maiden name
