look up/credits trade.....

Post by indiana » Tue Feb 21, 2006 9:25 pm

I have 24 credits left on Scotland's People which expire in a few days, but unfortunately the remaining information I'm after (a death, one or possibly more births, and possibly a re-marriage) occurred outwith the available dates. I am more than happy to use some of these credits to help others search, and if they were willing to do a look - up for me in return that would be splendid, but not by any means obligatory!

thanks

Lisa

Dear Lisa

Still got some credits of my own on SP, but what a great offer for someone - hope you get help too! I'm finding folk on this site really helpful.

Hi Lisa - I'm off to NRH next week. If you'd like to let me know what you're looking for, I'll see what I can do. I won't have time to do in-depth searching, but hopefully they can be found quickly.

Unless someone else is going before me ...

I won't take up the offer of credits - no doubt someone could really use them - but it's a very kind offer. Don't forget though that they are reinstated after time expiry if you put another six quid in the meter. Maybe you'll find you have plenty rellies in Scotland to use them up on!

Regards

Thanks Pinkshoes, I really appreciate it. Fortunately the surname is relatively uncommon so hopefully won't be hard to find. All persons named are deceased.

Mary Heslin (widow) née Allan (b 1892) wed Frederick Henry Kerslake (b 1894 in Devon) in 1918 in Bruntisland, Fife (my g-grandparents). They had a son, also called Frederick, in December 1919. I have their marriage record. What I am looking for in particular is Mary's date of death, but of course she may have remarried (Fred snr died in Cornwall in 1945 but I know they had separated before this, probably prior to 1939). There are no records (that I can find) within the dates available on SP of her remarriage or death, and I can find nothing on the English sites.

If you are able to trace what happened to her (particularly a confirmed date of death) that would be really helpful. The other thing I am after, which might be asking you a bit much so don't worry if you can't do it, is whether they had any other children. I don't think they did but again can't check as any births are outwith the SP dates.

thanks!
Lisa

Hi Lisa

Just got back from Edinburgh and have some info for you. Apologies for the brevity here, but I've been on the go since 4am, so ready for bed. However, I will pm you the details tomorrow if you can bear with me.

Anyway, briefly this is what I found :

Mary died in Haymarket, Edinburgh on 4 November 1964 aged 72 years

No other children found

She did remarry on 2 March 1946 - John Dillane

I'll send you the resk of the info I have as soon as I've had a cuppa, a sleep and been to work in that order.

Hope that helps.

Best wishes

Pinkshoes
