Looking for the death date of Andrew Millar somewhere in Edinburgh.

Since a search for a death using both female names is possible on www.ScotlandsPeople.gov.uk , looking for Mary MILLAR/LAING might be a good start for you. There is only one hit for Midlothian, 3 for all of Scotland. The information from Mary's death should narrow down the search field for James death.

If you look on www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk you should find Andrew's death entry there. There are only 2 in Midlothian in the correct age bracket (4 if you widen it a bit) between 1881 (when he was living in St. Cuthberts) and 1955.
You can narrow the date down by finding him on census records or his childrens' marriage entries.
