What happened to the HART sisters?.....

Post by momat » Fri May 26, 2006 6:23 am

Need some ideas here as to where to look for 3 missing HART sisters of Glasgow Lanark.
Elisabeth B 1856
Mary B 1859
Janet B 1861
Parents John & Ann Hart
I have tried wild cards ,I G I etc; even looked under Mothers maiden name but no Marriages or Deaths appear for them.
I have Birth Certificates for all 3 sisters.

I know the Mother, Ann applied for parish relief 1862.
Thank's to Jack, who supplied me with this information but nothing comes up for the Sisters anywhere after this date.

Cheers,
Maureen

Have you looked at the death entry of Ann Mathie Hart in 1884 to see if this is the mum and who registered it?
As it is in Dennistoun there is a good chance it was at the poorhouse. I'll have a look for another application at The Mitchell.

Hi Annette,
I have that D C for Ann and it was her Sister JANET GRAME who
registered it.
I am wondering if the children were adopted out ?

Cheers.

Hello Momat,

I had a look for another poorhouse application for Ann but there was only the one Jack found.
Have you never found her in the 1881 census?
What was her address when she died in 1884?

Helo Annette,

Ann died in the Royal infirmary Glasgow .
Usual Residence (looks like ) 36 Tennant Street ?

I have had a private reply regarding death of Janet in 1863 and Mary in1866 , but none for Elisabeth .
She does not appear anywhere after 1862 reference to Parish.

Husband John may have died in the Army as there is nothing for him on S P.

Cheers,
Maureen
