I have just been going over some family papers and found something interesting, and a little disturbing!
My grandparents divorced in 1946. I have the papers for that, and in reading through them, I found that my grandfather stated that he thought my grandmother had changed my dad's (his son's) name! He says the surname was changed to Easton...but there has also been a wee story in the family that there was disagreement about my dad's christian name, and one of them changed it, then the other went back and changed it back! No, it doesn't seem to have been a good marriage/divorce
Well here is my request...based on the assumption that a good family story always seems to have a grain of truth in it. I was wondering if anyone could have a look for me at the registry offices? I am guessing that if Dad's name was formally changed then there should also be a RCE for it too. Or more than one change...or more than one RCE?
Edited: Sorry, was advised to edit out my dad's details, you would think I would know better after all this time....well, anyway, if anyone would like to try looking at this record for me, please PM me!
Here's hoping someone can have a peek for me...I am so curious!!!
