Another peek at more recent records please?.....

Hi all,

I wish I was in Glasgow so I could go and do this for myself...but since I am not, I am hoping someone can do it for me.

Problem with this one is that it is a bit vague, so if it is too hard, that's okay.

I have a Mary McDade, widow to Frederick Cotterill, (my great great uncle), who married a John Carson. I know nothing about the date of the marriage other than I know it must have happened after 1938 and before 1953 (told you it was vague). Likely to be in Glasgow and maybe the Bridgeton area, as that is where Mary lived for a long time. John was not a Catholic, but Mary was, so it may have been a Catholic marriage...not sure.

The reason I would like to find out more about John is that my main paternal family line is Carson, and I would like to see if he fits in to my tree, or it is another Carson family entirely.

Hoping someone can help!

Well, I have done a bit of searching at SP, and I don't think this John Carson is related to me except through his marriage to Mary. His parents were from Co. Antrim, my Carsons are all from the southern end of Co. Down.

All the same it was great to finally know for sure, so thanks very much again, Pinkshoes!
