Hi all,
While replying to a post on Scottish People on here, I found what I think is a fairly common error.
When it is the Grandparents names that are put in, instead of the Parents.
I have come across it three times myself.
Anyone else found this on their researches?

Well, my son has no chance of forgetting my maiden name.
Being a female and not able (under accepted tradition) to pass on my family name...
I gave it to him as a christian name

Your mother and I are obviously equally proud of our name, Stewie.
Wow! HeatherH, I'll bet that would have caused raised eyebrows

Who knows Stew. His wife was Margaret Ann Walker and her wee sister was Margaret Strachan Walker . Both grew to adulthood but only 1 married my Great Grandfather.(thank heavens as I'm having enough problems with this lot as it is)When I saw the death cert I had no choice as she hadn't used her middle name on her marriage cert but to check the census.Luckily Margaret S was still at home with her parents so he hadn't married a 13 year old.I still haven't found her birth (Margaret Ann's) but its near the top of my list .
Happy Hunting,
