Hi all,
I am having a lot of trouble finding the death for John Duffy, married to Margaret McDonald. I have spent a lot of credits on possibilities and come up blank. From my research, he was born about 1819 in Ireland, and had died between 1871 and 1875 presumably in Glasgow. (He was on the 1871 census, his son states he is dead when he married in 1875, and his wife remarried in 1876.)
His family stuck close to Milton, but there is nothing for that area. I have also searched wider but the deaths outside Glasgow don't look promising enough to waste more credits on!
His son Patrick (b about 1854) is equally elusive, but because there are too many of them! Patrick seems to have died after 1928, which is when his wife Jessie McNicol died in Glasgow. However Patrick did not sign her death registration, so it is a bit unclear if he is still alive then. I am going round in circles with both Patrick and John....is there a wee helping hand out there to point me in the right direction before I am broke?
