Is someone going to Registery office in Glasgow any time soo

I live across the pond so a little difficult to get to the office. Anyway I am looking for any death and birth record for John Stevenson He was born (I think) on April 11,1779. Don't know when he died but he was 58 on the 1841 census from Milton.He was married to Jean Walker on July 6,1804. Can't find them on the 1851 census, but they had 7 children. Am trying to find his parents names, and other than checking birth or death records don't know how to do it.
Anyway thank you for any help.

Unfortunately in that time scale you are back to the realms of the OPR-Old Parish Records.
Does the Census give his birthplace?If so you can check at your LDS Family history Centre to see if they have the films for the relevant Parish.
You may be lucky & find his birth with both parents.
Scotlands People may have the record but as images of the OPR are not aviable online & you may have to order them I think your best bet is the FHC where they will order the film if they dont have it & you can check all the entries & may find other family on it too!
