Hello
Here is Maggie from Canada. I would like to know if anybody can help me to find my great grandmother's birth record. I am afraid I dont know what town she was born. Her name was Jessie Blyth McBain McDonald. She was born in 1900. I think that she came from Dundee area not sure. But her daughter was Alice Robertson Gibson who was married Frederick Russell Soutar in Dundee. Please let me know if you know anything on McDonald family or Soutar family.
Thank you Margaret

Hi Maggie
Have you tried looking on www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk ?
You might be lucky and find her birth there. There is a Jessie Blyth Mc M*cDonald born in St Andrew parish, Dundee, Angus in 1900 - worth a look I would guess...
Best wishes
Lesley

Hi Margaret,
A quick search on www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk shows there was a Jessie Blyth MacDonald (note spelling) born in Dundee (St Andrew district) in 1900. Given the information you have, it should be worth your while downloading a copy of this certificate from there (on a pay per view basis).
As there is a 100 year closure on births, her daughter's certificate will not be available there. If you would like a copy of her certificate, have a read at this webpage. http://www.gro-scotland.gov.uk/famrec/bdm.html
All the best,
AndrewP
