Hi G Jones
Are you looking for a marriage in Scotland before or after 1855?
After 1855 you can find digital copies of the original Statutory Register entries on Scotlands People - see link at top of page. The post 1855 marriages give quite a bit of information.
Before 1855 you can search on Scotlands People or on the IGI (www.familysearch.org) but you can't, as yet, see the original OPR entries online. The pre 1855 OPR entries give much less informaiton that the post 1855 documents.
A look at:
http://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk/conte ... aspx?r=554
might help too.

Hope this is of some help.

Hi there
I found my Caithness births and marriages on the LDS microfilms of the Old Parochial Records. The records for some parishes are quite good although a bit difficult to decipher. Further back there are gaps for some parishes like Halkirk where records have been lost - or in this case destroyed.
If there is an LDS centre within reach you could order in the films you need quite reasonably, and spend a few hours trawling through them.
Although the original images are not yet available on scotlandspeople they have the indexes for Caithness. Either route is possible or you could be patient like the rest of us and wait until they go on-line.
For other information for MIs and local info the caithnessfhs.gov.uk are very helpful. I think subscription is about £10 annually.
