Where and when were Wallace McAlpin and Helen Nish Married?.I think they were the parents of Mathew Gardiner McAlpine who was a miner. I'm not sure where Mathew was born, but he married Euphemia Russell 1832 in Denny, Stirling/
Thankyou

Did he survive until 1855 & Stat.Reg & did the person reporting his death know his parentage?

Hi Betty, I found on IGI a submission of a birth of Matthew Gardiner McAlpine "about 1816, Gavel, New Monkland, Lanark" spouse Euphemia Russell, which you have probably seen. No parents mentioned. Really needs confirmation, but there again, some else one has interest in him!.....
I found no birth or death quickly on SP.
Sorry not to be more helpful.....

Hi Betty
Have you tried looking for Mathew Gardiner McAlpine on the census?
The 1841 would be the most obvious first stop, but places of birth were not given that year, just "in" or "out of county" which is not always a great help! From 1851 onwards a place of birth should be given which might help you tie him down.
Best wishes

Hi Betty, I see Matthew Mcalpine age 30 in Denny 1841, and a Matthew McAlpine age 0 in Denny 1851, while in Kincardine 1851 is also Matthew age 42 and likely the same as in '41, but perhaps away from home. Worth looking at those 2 images. ´51 Denny image is unfortunately not available. The ages tally better with Matthew born 1809 on SP (and IGI) so perhaps the submissions need a little more justification? Just ruminating......
