...to the plan to put indexes of Scottish BDM online up until recent years? (albeit without images) I'm assuming this got bogged down with privacy issues?

"bogged down with privacy issues" would seem to be a fair summary. It will be on the agenda for the next UG meeting, set for the 25th.

I thought as much! For what it's worth, reference details of my birth and marriage have been on the indexes at two well known genealogy sites for a while now and I've not had any problems - touch wood!
