Hi Joyce
Can you give us any clues as to where they lived? Where did they marry?
Best wishes
Lesley

Hello Joyce,

Did you check SP for the DC? I just tried a free search for Katherine Murray ...other surname Morgan from 1855 to 1956 and nothing came up. I also tried using *atherine and 3 came up. Tried it from 1855 to 1873 and one came up. Sorry I don't have the credits to check it for you, but if it's your Katherine, it will tell you where she died and should let you know if James Morgan was still alive.

Regards,
Anne

Hi Joyce,

I have looked at the ScotlandsPeople index and the pre-1873 (1855-1873) death for a female of surname Murray and Morgan was a child, so not the person you are looking for. The two post-1873 female deaths of Murray and Morgan surnames are both post-1920, so also are not the ones married in the 1790s. From that, the most likely outcome is that she died pre-1855, so there is no statutory death certificate for her. The other possibility is that she died outwith Scotland.

All the best,

AndrewP
