Help with DC, please

Post by heymarky » Tue Feb 27, 2007 10:08 pm

I've found a DC for David Dyer, a distant cousin.

There is a note in the margin that seems to indicate that there may be more information somewhere else. Can anyone tell me more about it?

Also, I'm having trouble finding this David Dyer in the 1881 census. Can anyone tell me what the 'usual residence' says?

notes
* Have an IGI for marriage to Susan McDonald, 4 Apr 1873, Bridgeton, Glasgow.
* Have an IGI for birth of son, Robert, 19 Apr 1873 , Bridgeton, Glasgow.

Thanks!

Hi Mark

Ist, the note in margin I think points to there being a Record of Corrected Entry for this death which you can view at NRH.
2nd I think the address could be 293 Garscube Road.
All the best

Hi Mark:

Obviously, you've not heard the saying 'The first baby can come anytime, the second one takes 9 months' :)

Hey Mark, do you have any connections to the Dyets of Motherwell?

My Dyets start out (1775-ish) in Ayr (Kilwinning)

Around 1805/1806 they moved to Girvan, Ayr and changed to be Dyers.

From 1811 I find the Dyers in Barony, Lanark and then later in Glasgow.

Wikipedia tells me that Motherwell is close to these places, but I haven't found Motherwell connected to anyone I could claim.

Cheers,

Mark Dyer
