Can't find Jessie Crighton.....

Post by Dennis » Sun May 15, 2005 6:51 pm

Hello:) I've got her as having married William Airth Dec. 31. 1903 in Forfar; Her parents are listed as William Crighton & Isabella Malcolm.
IGI gives me 2 daughters from William & Isabella, Betsy in 1869 and helen in 1873. I can find no birth or death record for Jessie; can't seem to find the family in 1871 or 1881 censuses. All I have about her is only mentioned in her marriage to William Airth and on his death record in 1930.

Hi Dennis

Think this is Jessie and her parents and siblings in 1881?

Hello Jean:) Wondering if Jessie & Betsy are the same lass. Its possible that for the census I may have typed a 'c' instead of a 'g'. Thank you for showing me the correct census, along with the other 2 wee uns.

Hi Dennis

I wondered the same thing about Jessie/Betsy because I don't seem to see a birth for Jessie on IGI or SP. I thought I had found a Betsy in 1881 living with a Crighton grandmother...but looking further now I think now she is not a child of William and Isabella so won't list her just to confuse you. There looks to be other possible children to William and Isabella which probably didn't survive between 1870 and 1881....but I'll leave the cert buying up to you  Still some work to be done on this chase...watch out for different spellings.....good luck!
