Citing Statutory Births

Post by Ealasaid » Wed Apr 18, 2007 6:58 am

Hello,

I'm entering a record I obtained from the SRI Birth, which I understand to mean Statutory Births Index, and would like to know how to properly cite this in my program.
So far I'm thinking:
  • General Register Office for Scotland. Statutory Births.
but maybe:
  • ScotlandsPeople. Statutory Births.
Anything else?

I'm also wondering about repository - since I got it from ScotlandsPeople I gather I should use this but I see on their site that this site/database is "a partnership between General Register Office for Scotland, the National Archives of Scotland and the Court of the Lord Lyon enabled by Scotland Online," so I'm not sure.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I'd suggest "The Register Book of Marriages, 18??, <parish>, General Register Office for Scotland, via digitised image on ScotlandsPeople, or at new Register House Edinburgh, or wherever".

But that's only my thoughts.
