Marriage of Esther McNeil & Arthur Laverty.

Occupation of the groom: ship ?

Maiden name of grooms mother ?

Name of second witness to marriage ?

A fresh pair of eyes would be appreciated.

Thanks

*There is a similarity in the initial letters of Samuel's occupation and the second word in Albert's, but I don't think I've got it.

The only one I was 100% on was the maiden name of McCulloch.

After reading Paddyscar's transcription I would agree with the others.

I found this on the Scottish Occupations site -
Ship Stager Stager in a shipyard erected wooden scaffolding and platforms around a ship being built

Kind regards,

Hi folks,
The address will be Bouverie Street in Port Glasgow.
Samuel's occupation looks like Holderon (Holder-on).

Thankyou Paddyscar, Annette M & Jack, very much appreciated.

Bouverie Street & Holderon are correct, I have this information from previous research.

Holder-on, aka hauderoan, - the member of the rivetting team who literally holds the rivet in place on one side of the steel plate while the rivetter on the other side flattens the head of the rivet on his side.
