John Sime - Where's his death certficate ?

Post by darylrodger » Mon Jul 09, 2007 8:52 pm

Hi,

Can anyone help with this mystery ?

I can't find the death of John Sime b. 5th May 1843 in Urquhart, Moray.
I know he was alive when his wife Jessie died in 1910, but so far has proved elusive. :? His parents were James & Isabella.

Thanks,

Daryl

Have you already tried SYME or SIM ?

Were there kids living ouside the county of Moray?

Hi Daryl

Did he die in Urquhart definitely.
There is 1 John Sime b 1843 (+/- 1 year) who died in Monifieth, Angus in 1910.
I tried all the usual wildcards for John S*m* in Urquhart and all that came up were Simsons and the like so I widened the geographical search parameters.
There are no John Sime Death entries in Urquhart even with a +/- range of 3, or even 5 years which is about as wide as you could make it, so it looks as though his death might have been elsewhere.
Before you speculate on the Angus one see whether you have any links with the area. Have you followed up on where his children went to ?

Hi Russell,
I think Daryl just said that John was born in Urquhart, not that he died there. In 1901 the family was in Govan.

Hi Daryl,
Where did Jessie die? Were they still in Govan by then?

Regards,
Sarah

Hi Sarah,

James's wife Jessie died in Bothwell in Kirklands Asylum on 22 Dec 1910.
Their usual residence was in Partick, Glasgow.

Regards,

Daryl :)
