I am looking for information on the Laing family and the Mackie Family form the parish of Leslie. Electoral register for Dublin

Hi Alan & Anne I had no problem opening the orignal documents (once i downloaded DiJaVu reader). I actually found quite a few people on the register mainly because my Great Grandmother Isabella Carrick was one of 15! and most of them still lived in the north dock area of Dublin at that time. I have came a cross this webiste that has the 1939-1940 electoral register for Dublin

It also has some records for Parish births, Marriages and burials for various churches in Dublin

Sorry for taking so long to come back to you.

I think your right that there is good chance that Huntly Gardens is part of another Road in Cathcart.

I think I'm now almost certain it must been closed to the Railway.

Hi all

Thanks for all the info.

I checked to see if any of other addresses name in Alan's post still exist. There is not a Castle Gardens but there is a an Old Castle Gardens which is just beside the railway just off Old Castle Road.

Hi all Thanks for all your help. The street seems to existed in the early 1900's and it is in the Glasgow Post Office Directory for 1903/1904 but the only details it gives is that it is in Cathcart. I did think it might in the Cathcart area as the person who lived there also lived at the Rose Villa ...
