Thanks Wilma. I have Frederick and Bridget's marriage entry in 1862. But no sign of him in 1861 or before. I also have his mother Ann's death entry in 1872 but no sign of her in 1871 or before. I wondered the same.

Although the death entry mentions the assault the post mortem doesn't and gives the cause of death as sudden heart failure. I was hoping for the names of the people mentioned in the newspaper.
