Re: My Birth Certificate
Yes, there was further blurb at the bottom of his 2001 certificate. It's funny my daughter, born a few years before has a totally different layout to her brothers' and my husband's is slightly different, in format and layout, from mine. It's interesting in itself how the paper copies have evolved. M...

The original Poster carolann hasn't been active for a few years, but hopefully ...

Re: Search for US Navy Officer
[TS_welcome] Jeanette, That's a tricky one to try and resolve. You have lots of little clues, but nothing concrete enough to really help in a search. As you mentioned 2 surnames, I thought perhaps one may his mother's maiden name so searched all of Scotland for a birth of an Ale* Brown Mother's name...

Re: Death 1975
James Smith and Christina Webster did marry on 31st Dec 1960 so registered as 1961. However they did only have one child Christina. There were two children from her first marriage, Jean and a boy whose name I haven't determined. He may be Joseph Waller MEIKLE b 1941 Johnstone & Elderslie ? There's ...

Re: Death 1975
In what year did the first Christina Smith die? and what was her maiden name? knowing her maiden name may help narrow down both death and birth questions. Knowing the year she died could help with newspaper announcements or gravestone inscriptions. The Beatson is a cancer specialist hospital, so pat...
