I'd be surprised if there isn't a newspaper report somewhere, in a local newspaper at least.
Back then, as now, for local newspapers it was names that sold papers.
Any surviving material at NAS is unlikely to have more info than the marriage record RCE entry. Sadly, the majority of Sheriff Court records have been binned.
Sometimes, national papers would pick up on a report in a local newspaper, but not always.
So it's back to more local papers ..............

That's strange! I thought I had replied to your post last night Alan, but it has disappeared into the internet ether! I wanted to say thank you very much for finding that article from the Glasgow Herald, because I didn't realise the search function wasn't the best, so I realise it must have taken you quite a while to find it. That’s okay Nina,
It’s not too bad once you get the hang of it. I figured it had to be the day after the hearing, and there are usually parts of the newspaper where it obviously wouldn’t be. I was getting a bit worried when I got as far as page 10 but luckily it was there.
