Cissie : What is it short for

Hi Maureen,

My Grandmother was Susan and known as Cissie, this was because her younger brother couldn't pronounce Susan when he was a toddler

I only ever knew of her as Cissie and none of the options work.

This one is proving a brick wall as I can't find any birth or death Certs for her .
I think she was married to a James Patterson but too late for S P as I think she was married 1940 -50s.
Will go back and try some more wildcards !

Can you go sideways , and maybe find her as a witness on a sister's marriage cert.?

Presumably she wasn't alive for the 1901 census, you may just have to wait for the 1911 to appear.

It's maddening when something so simple turns into a brick wall!

My Gran was Elizabeth McLauchlan Keir and was called Cissie. Not sure how that diminutive works though.???

No way can I find her.
Looks like it will have to go on the pending file until the 1911 Census.

My father's sister was Catherine. but was always called Cissie
