New NRO up and running

I had my first visit on last Friday and found some plusses and some minuses. The new computer system does take some getting used to. One of my first searches did not find any McDonald marriages!! After drawing some more blanks I realised I was searching for the "groom" but the box ticked by default was "bride".

Luckily I had done all my initial searching on Scotland's People so only wanted to look up the actual certificates. There were however one or two searches I could not check on their new system, so I also submitted a complaint form.

I can't understand why they did not just replicate the web searching and avoid all these hassles.

This is really disappointing news. I too was planning a visit but I think I will give them some time to "correct" it
